About Ritual Beads and Rosaries

I make my ritual beads and rosaries out of papier-mâché, herbs, resins and petals. Sometimes I use drawings on paper to make the papier-mâché. I use the rosaries as a physical means of keeping count of specific repetitive incantations that form part of rituals that I devise .

My rosaries contain clusters consisting of nine beads (a matrix). If the rosaries are stringed, then each matrix is separated by a slightly larger bead (a pause) .

Beadaries can contain any number of matrix clusters. I refer to single-matrix rosaries (stringed or loose) as ‘echoes’.

A new rosary is made for each ritual.
